On October 23^rd, Prof. Wu Kongming, President of CAAS, met with Dr. Chekmarev Aleksandrovich, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and exchanged views on further deepening mutual cooperation.

Prof. Wu Kongming pointed out that since the signing of cooperation agreement in 1998, CAAS and RAS has made significant cooperation progress in areas such as genetic resource utilization, breeding of animals and plants, agricultural product processing, and plant protection. He hoped that both sides would further optimize the cooperation mechanisms, deepen research cooperation in key areas, and enhance the quality and efficiency of existing cooperative platforms so as to make new contribution to the agricultural development both in China and in Russia.

Dr. Aleksandrovich expressed his willingness to work with CAAS to jointly formulate and refine cooperation plans, further deepen pragmatic cooperation between the two academies, build a closer partnership, and continuously enhance collaboration performance.

After the meeting, Dr. Aleksandrovich and his delegation visited the National Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Park. Prof. Sun Tan, Vice President of CAAS, and officials from Department of International Cooperation of CAAS attended the meeting.
