Institute of Crop Sciences (ICS) and Syngenta Group Global Seeds Advance Collaborative Research in the Seed Industry
On March 13th, a delegation from Syngenta Group Global Seeds visited ICS-CAAS for discussions regarding the implementation of cooperative projects signed in 2021. Both sides gained insights into the latest advancements in corn resistance to major diseases, corn lodging resistance, and regulation of soybean flowering and maturation periods. In-depth discussions encompassed agricultural technology innovation, seed industry development, and future cooperation needs, marking another phase of collaboration between ICS-CAAS and Syngenta since 2021.
Prof. Zhou Wenbin, Director General of ICS-CAAS, introduced the institute's latest developments, emphasizing its commitment to promoting global agricultural technology innovation. He highlighted Syngenta Group Global Seeds' expertise in seed development and technology promotion, stressing the importance of strengthened collaboration for the sustainable development of global agriculture.
Mr. Justin Wolfe, President of Syngenta Group Global Seeds, presented the group's global business layout and research achievements. Mr. Ying Minjie, Vice President & Seeds General Manager at Syngenta Group China, elaborated on the company's development in China. Justin Wolfe emphasized Syngenta Group's focus on the Chinese market, expressing a desire for long-term cooperation with institutions like ICS-CAAS to promote agriculture in China.
Both sides expressed their intention to enhance communication and exchange in academic research, product development, and talent cultivation. Pledging to explore new paths for agricultural technology innovation, ICS-CAAS and Syngenta Group Global Seeds are committed to providing innovative seed technology to global farmers and contributing to global food security.
